Joahnna Contreras was both fast and furious after she was stopped earlier this week making an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Richmond Highway, leading to a strange series of events that resulted in her arrest.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, the 34-year-old Lauderhill, Florida resident was displeased about being pulled over, and "was immediately irate and the situation did not improve as deputies learned she lacked a driver’s license," the spokesperson said.
Contreras was cited for the infractions, but then made a bad situation much worse.
When the deputy returned to her Toyota RAV4 with citations, officials say that Contreras sped away and initiated a pursuit when instructed that her vehicle would have to be towed away from the area.
It was a short lived chase, as Contreras pulled to the shoulder shortly past the I-95 ramp. She was taken into custody, but not without having her say, spewing what were described as "a torrent of insults and obscenities toward the deputies.
What could have been a routine traffic stop led to charges for Contreras that include obstruction, eluding, driving without a license, and making an illegal U-turn.
She is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until she can participate in a bond hearing, officials said on Friday.
